I am Brian Culmo, and I am designer, adventurer, and athlete. I am currently a designer for REVEL Race Series in Salt Lake City, Utah. REVEL produces the premier downhill marathon and half marathon road running races in the country. I am involved in every part of event production with the small company, and focus on managing and developing visual content related to the races.
in 2015, I graduated from Champlain College in Burlington, VT with a BFA in Graphic Design and Digital Media. At Champlain I learned the importance of meaningful, strategic, and culturally relevant design. After graduating, I spent three months biking across the United States with friends. Our trip took us 4500 miles from New Hampshire to Seattle, Washington by bike. Along with three close friends, we biked across 17 states and hiked 15 state high points along the way. Throughout our three month journey we met so many incredible people and were able to experience a wide range of culture and landscapes. The experience opened up my perspective on this country, and was a perfect reprieve before continuing my design career.
To balance my time spent on the computer, I try to spend as much of my free time as possible outside enjoying nature while being active. I am constantly training for my next big running goal, whether it be qualifying for the Boston Marathon (which I did in 2015) or running ultramarathons in the mountains. I constantly look for challenges to push my limits. I I run and hike a lot; everything from small backyard exporations to long distance backpacking adventures. In the summer of 2012 I thru-hiked the Long Trail spanning 273 miles across Vermont. In the winter I spend my free time snowboarding, as I have for over 15 years.
